Pamela Fortenberry Garrett

HURST — Pamela Fortenberry Garrett passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at the age of 56.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, in Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Pamela’s memory to NAMI Tarrant County, 3136 W. Fourth St., Fort Worth, Texas 76107, to help patients with mental health or bipolar disorders.
Pamela was born Sept. 22, 1959, in Denton to Hardie and Betty Rice Fortenberry. She graduated from L.D. Bell in 1978. Pamela worked several years at Harris Hospital downtown. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She loved her grandchildren immensely and found great joy in spending time with them. She was hospitable, compassionate and generous to all she met.
Pamela was preceded in death by her father, Hardie Fortenberry.
Survivors: Daughter, Monica Higdon and husband, Stephen; grandchildren, Simon and Genevieve; mother, Betty Rice House; brothers, Joe Fortenberry and Dale Fortenberry and wife, Vivian; sister, Lynne Butler and husband, Robert; nephew, James Carr and wife, Kayla; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
