Sylvia Ann “Molly” Sanchez

FORT WORTH-Sylvia Ann “Molly” Sanchez passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the age of 61.
Celebration of life: 12 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Hallmark Baptist Church, 4201 W. Risinger Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76123. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Molly was born September 6, 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas to Ramiro and Beatrice Perez. She attended and graduated from R. L. Paschal High School. Molly’s family meant everything to her. Her children were her legacy but the grandchildren were her crowning glory. She loved helping people and traveling with her family. She always had a smile that would light up any room. She loved the ocean and visiting the beach whenever she could. She worked as a floral designer for TCU Florist in Fort Worth for many years. Anyone who knew Molly knew that they could always count on her if they need help with anything. She was a friend to many and will be deeply missed by us all.
Molly is preceded in death by her father, Ramiro Perez Jr.; and her brother, Ramiro Perez III.

John Edward Sauer

FORT WORTH-John Edward Sauer passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at the age of 58.

John was born October 18, 1960 to the late Charles Elmer and Elsie Sauer in Sinton, Texas. John was a devoted, hardworking father who always put his kids above everything else. John would always do anything for anyone. He was the coolest guy you could ever meet and when you were around him, there was never a dull moment. He could talk about anything and knew everything. He will be missed by many and will continue to carry on in our hearts forever.

William Robert “Bob” Kirby

FORT WORTH-William Robert “Bob” Kirby passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at the age of 78.
Requiem Mass: 10 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2019 at St. Timothy’s Church, 4201 Mitchell Blvd., Fort Worth, Texas 76119. Visitation: Private visitation for family only from 8 to 8:45 Friday, May 3, 2019 at St. Timothy’s Church. Public visitation for friends: 8:45 to 9:50 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2019 at St. Timothy’s Church.
Interment: Bob will be laid to rest at 1 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2019 in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.
Vigil: 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with a reception to follow at 3 p.m. at Tony’s Pizza, 3320 Harwood Road, Bedford, Texas.

William Robert “Bob” Kirby was born August 3, 1940 to the late Robert Spurlock and Millie Marie Watts Kirby in Dallas, Texas. Bob was deeply proud of his service in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1965, and was well known for his love of Texas. He was raised by loving parents, married the love of his life, and raised and nurtured his two daughters, of whom he was very proud. He was a respected Air Traffic Controller, and he maintained many of those deep friendships until the day he died. The pinnacle years of his life were the ones he shared with his grandchildren. Bob served his church with dignity and respect as MC. Generations of men will follow his example for years to come. Bob had a deep impact on every person he encountered throughout his life. He had a way of making every person feel like they were awesome. He always understood the value of relationships, and that time spent with someone is of utmost importance. Even after his illness began, he never lost that infectious smile of his. He fought a tough fight because he knew how much he was loved.
Bob’s hobby, interest, and obsession was experiencing his grandchildren grow and achieve. His grandchildren were his rock stars, and he was their number one fan. Anyone who knew him knew how committed he was to his beloved grandchildren. He also loved keeping track of birthdays, anniversaries, Texas milestones, and a multitude of other important dates. He worked very diligently every day to make sure he never forgot an important event. Bob and Gloria also made a mission out of going to see homebound church members and friends who needed something, or just needed a visit.

Barbara Joan Dobbins Piper

FORT WORTH-Barbara Joan Dobbins Piper passed away peacefully at the age of 86 in the early morning of Sunday, April 14, 2019. In her last days she was surrounded by her family and friends and their love and prayers.
Memorial service: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church, 800 W. 5th Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. A reception will follow at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. At 1:00 p.m., the procession will leave the church to proceed to the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery for a graveside service at 2:00 p.m.

Joan was born on Monday, November 20, 1933. As a loving and gentle mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Joan will be missed by her daughter, Jeanine; her sons, Ed and John and their significant others; her grandchildren, Melanie, Justin, Robert, Will, Brandon, Dakota, Dylan and Derek. She will also be greatly missed by all of her great grandchildren as well.
Growing up the adopted child of Selma Jane and John Dobbins, she spent her earliest years in Okmulgee, Oklahoma before moving to Texas. Joan’s family was always the apple of her eye and her happiest times were when they were all together for holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions. She loved to travel, dance, cook, and she held each family member close to her heart, leading and loving them well.
Joan touched so many lives in so many different ways. She will always be remembered for her timeless beauty, work ethic, quick wit, kindness, and willingness to help those less fortunate. She made friends instantly and most remained lifelong friends throughout her life. She had the good fortune of also meeting some of her blood relatives from her natural mothers’ side later in her life and they were so happy to get to know her.
Joan raised her three children in Fort Worth while working multiple jobs throughout her long career. She ended her career as a Vice President for Overton National Bank. In the 60’s, Joan was extremely involved with Beta sigma Phi where she served as the Chapter President and the City Council President. This began her lifelong involvement in numerous civic and social clubs in which she held numerous leadership positions. Some of these included the Women’s Club, Bon Soir, Lion’s Club and many others.
She was always generous with her time and valued giving back to the community and causes she cared for. She married the love of her life, John Jacob Piper, and remained with him until his passing in 1998. She was so proud of her extended family and always had a smile, some helpful advice, or a good meal to help a family member in need. She was the unquestioned leader of our family, and the values she taught us and the love she shared with us all will remain with us forever.

AZLE-Amber Rochelle Flowers passed away Tuesday, April16, 2019 at the age of 33.

Amber was born September 9, 1985 to Roy and Fay Flowers in Odessa, Texas. Her main interests included her family, spending time with her son and husband and driving too fast. She graduated from Azle High School and was in customer service and earned her way to be an RGM with Taco Bell. She enjoyed life and lived each moment to its fullest. She loved practical jokes and pranks. She will be deeply missed by us all.

Vicenta M. Garcia

FORT WORTH—Vicenta M. Garcia passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at the age of 94, after a challenging life with Dementia.
Visitation: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Brown, Owens & Brumley Family Funeral Home.
Rosary: A Rosary service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at the funeral home.
Visitation: Family and friends who wish to do a final viewing may come to the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday. Family and friends who wish to attend the service will meet at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 1201 South Cherry Street, Fort Worth.
Interment: Vicenta will be laid to rest at Laurel Land Memorial Park with her beloved husband, Pedro.
Pallbearers: Christopher Garcia, Robert Garcia, Rudy Garcia, Nick Granado, Dan Granado and Joseph Ozuna.
Vicenta was born in Poteet, Texas on October 27, 1924 and was the oldest of 13.
After her beloved husband of 40 years passed away, she was very active with Immaculate Heart of Mary Church where she was involved with the Guadalupana’s, Eucharistic Ministry and Altar Society.
Our family wish is to take time with a loved one, sit and talk, take a walk, make a simple phone call, and make memories. Time and memories are the best gift you could give and have.
Vicenta is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Reyes Mendez; her husband, Pedro R. Garcia and her son, Rudy M. Garcia.
Survivors: son, Pete M. Garcia and wife, Tommie; daughters, Dianna Zapata and husband, Jesse, Mary Alice Echevarria and husband, Salomon; daughter-in-law, Cecilia Garcia; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and many other extended family and friends.

Thomas “Tom” McRay Deal Jr.

Thomas McRay Deal Jr. passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the age of 66.
Celebration of life is 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2019 at Brown, Owens and Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Visitation is 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday afternoon at the Funeral Home.
Burial is 1 p.m., Thursday, April 18 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Thomas was born on November 14, 1952 in Fort Benning, Georgia, the son of Thomas McRay and Betty Deal. Being the son of a career Army 1st Sgt., Tom experienced Army life for his first 17 years. Tom then decided to leave the “Army life” and join the US Air Force at age 18. During his 20 years in the United States Air Force he served as a C130 crew chief and retired as a Master Sergeant. One of his fondest memories was during the 1970’s, while stationed at Hickam AFB in Hawaii he was member of the 6594th test group where he retrieved deorbited spy satellites. Tom had many loves consisting of Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas Longhorns football, golfing, and shooting guns with his wife. However his greatest LOVE was his family and grandchildren whom referred to him as “Pa Pa”. Tom was someone who loved to be with his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bonnie Lee Vondra

FORT WORTH- Bonnie Lee Vondra passed away Sunday, April, 7, 2019 at the age of 91.

Bonnie was born November 23, 1927, to the late Edward James and Olga Horacezk in Omaha, Nebraska. She served in the United States Army and will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edward Jr., and Jack and sisters-in-law, Barbara and Mary.

Grady Thomas Jones

Grady Thomas Jones passed away Friday, April 5, 2019.
Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Brown, Owens and Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.

Grady was born on March 13, 1942 in Daingerfield, Texas, the son of T.C. and Willie Bell Jones.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Jones.

Gilberta “Bertha” Avalos

Arlington – Gilberta “Bertha” Avalos passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the age of 76.
Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Bertha was born December 24, 1942 in Las Cruces, Chihuahua in Mexico to the late Gilberto Avalos and Andrea Tena de Barraza. She immigrated to the United States as a teenager, learned English, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. She worked hard to provide for her family and strongly encouraged education to get ahead. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. During difficult times Bertha relied on her faith and was a Godly woman. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed.
Bertha is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Arturo Barraza.
Survivors: Daughter, Tabatha Sustaita-Robb and husband David Robb; son, Alfredo Lopez Jr. and wife, Tessa; son, Jorge Lopez; grandchildren, Colton and D. Quinten; and numerous loving family members and friends.
