Jeffrey Joe Zimmer

BURLESON-Jeffrey Joe Zimmer, 63, made his transition from this life on Friday, November 2, 2018 after a brief illness.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at First Bible Baptist Church in Kennedale, Texas. Burial will be at the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton, Iowa.
Jeffrey was born July 19, 1955 in Hampton, Iowa to Robert and Betty (Flickinger) Zimmer. He graduated in 1974 from Hampton High School. He attended Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo, Iowa and graduated in 1977 as an electronic service technician.
On September 6, 1980, he married his high school sweetheart, Marcia Ann Diemer. They moved to Texas in May 1982. To this union he had two daughters, Rebecca Jo and Tamara Ann. In July, 2018, Jeff retired as an elevator mechanic with 36 years plus in the trade. He was a proud member of IUEC Local 21 in Dallas-Fort Worth. He received his IUEC Honorary member gold card on October 11, 2018. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved music, the Iowa Hawkeyes, his Ford Diesel truck, Chicago Bulls, Bears and Cubs, Texas Rangers, Nascar and a restaurant in Burleson called Our Place.
Jeffrey is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Ruth (Flickinger) Zimmer; father, Robert Owen Zimmer; and sister, Janice Louise Zimmer Cuvelier.
Survivors: Loving wife, Marcia Zimmer; his loving daughters, Rebecca and Tamara; his loving grandchildren, Hailie, Braylen and A.J.; his loving brother, John Zimmer and wife, Joy; his loving sister, Joann Zimmer Stockdale; his loving niece, Jonna Cuvelier Gutknecht; and all the loving nieces, nephews, cousins; and many close friends.
