  3. KIMBERLY PRYOR NOVOTNY :

I know this will sound strange but JC will always be my big Ole Teddy bear friend that introduced me to burritos because his parents weren’t serving anything else….he made me love burritos after my Daddy always grossed me out making me sit by the refried beans. I’m sad because all we had were our young 20’s as friends and I had just found him on Facebook after all these years. I’m so glad he was so happy and had a wonderful family. He will forever have a special place in my heart!

  4. I am so saddened to hear of J C’s passing. What a sweet, strong man he was. The world is a better place for his being here, living as a wonderful example for us all. My heart goes out to all his family and friends.

  5. Katrina Wallace :

    To JC’s family,
I am praying for your family after the loss of such a wonderful man. I worked with JC at CORELOGIC and he was one of the first to welcome me when I transferred to his department (when several of us got stuck in the elevator together). He was such a great guy and always so much fun to be around. He will certainly be missed by many. My prayer for you is that the precious memories you have of your time together will help ease the pain and help you through this difficult time. God bless.

  21. Kristen Haydon Howell Maheu :

    Liz, Jack and Sam,

I had just moved to California and was in my first coeducational environment. I was a shy dork my first day of Junior year at Laguna Hills High School, and terrified. Then JC said hi, and welcomed me. He was that friendly face and kind, open spirit that, somehow, made everything okay. He said that he loved my annual day-by-day recount of the Battle of the Alamo that I do as a docent. He was proud of his family, his history, and his adopted state of Texas. I am going to miss him very much. You are all in my prayers.

  22. David & Carol Trujillo :

    Liz, boys, John, and Rachel,
Are hearts grieve with you all during this very difficult time. We have been praying for you to be given the strength to press on and to rest in the peace that your lives — all our lives — are richer because of JC. We know that he will be sorely missed, but we are thankful now that he will find rest and deliverance from the suffering of this world. May the peace that surpasses all understanding guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus, the one who is the Resurrection and the Life. We love you guys,
    David & Carol Trujillo

  23. I write this with a heavy heart but I also know that John is at peace and with the Lord. J.C. was a special young man. I had the privilege of being John’s head varsity football coach at Laguna Hills High School. John was an outstanding young man, quiet, reserved, humble but a leader among young men and took his teammates under his wing treating them like family and coaching them along the way. John was a coaches dream-hard working, respectful, and gave you everything that he had everyday in practice and on game night for every minute. He was successful on the field and off the field. John was a man of strong character and integrity. He came from a strong family guided by wonderful, loving parents, John and Rachel who felt the sun rose and shined with John. This carried over to everything John did in life of being a wonderful husband and father and I know they look up to him with a great deal of respect and love. I couldn’t be more proud to have coached John. John will always be in my heart and will never be forgotten On Saturday, September 24, 2016 let’s do what John would want, “A True Celebration of Life”!! God Bless J.C. and his entire family during these trying times, praying, and calling for strength.
