FORT WORTH — Josephine Fox-Golden passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 14, 2014, in Norman, Okla., at the age of 92.
Graveside service: 3 p.m. Friday in the family plot in Granbury Cemetery, Granbury. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Brown Owens & Brumley Family Funeral Home.

Josephine Alice Brown was born April 11, 1922, to Owen and Josephine Brown in Fort Worth. She grew up in Fort Worth and married John William Fox Jr. in 1942. Josephine and John had two children, John William Fox III and Pamela Jo Fox. Jo, as family and friends called her, was a member of Nyanca Court No. 34 of the Lady Shrine and a member of Eastern Star in Fort Worth. She managed a Top Value store, a Spencer Gifts store and retired in 1992 from Houston General Insurance Co. in Fort Worth. Jo was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson. Due to her failing health, Jo had to recently stay in Norman, Okla., where she could be close to her family and live out her final days of her life.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Heartland Hospice for their loving support and tender care and Home Instead Senior Care for their help and support in Jo’s last days.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Josephine Brown; brother, Owen Young Brown Jr.; her husband of 37 years, John William Fox Jr.; and her second husband of 12 years, Rufus A. Golden.
Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, John and Cathe Fox of Norman, Okla.; daughter, Pamela Jo Fox of Norman, Okla.; granddaughters, Karen Fox Gunderson and her husband, Robert, of Edmond, Okla., Janice Fox and her husband, Dave Maynard, of Norman and Jennifer Renee Fox of Norman; great-grandchildren, Phillip, Sydney, Abigail and Sasha Gunderson, and Hunter and Preston Meister; and many friends.
