Alex was born Wednesday, December 9, 1992 to Randal and Katharine Wedgwood in White Salmon, Washington. He was a graduate of Stevenson High School, Class of 2011, in Stevenson, Washington. He attended Mount Hood Community College, Associate of Applied Sciences and completed the Paramedic Program, Gresham, Oregon. He was continuing his education at Weatherford College and planned to become a trauma surgeon one day. He worked in food service until he became an EMT. As a EMT, he held positions at Skamania Co. EMS (WA) and Cascade Locks EMS (OR). He served as a paramedic in the emergency department at Medical City Arlington, and for a brief time at Texas Health Fort Worth.
Alex was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, District 1, Carson, WA prior to relocating to Texas. He was a member of The Chive Community and proud supporter of Chive Charities, giving support to those with rare medical diagnoses, 1st responders and veterans.
Alex had cool blue eyes, an ear-to-ear smile, and the best belly laugh. He was a hard worker, with no task too big or too small. He had a huge heart. His determination was unfathomable and earned him a most inspirational player award in youth football, after he played as nose guard against a player much bigger than he was. After being sent flying, he returned to the line growling, and when the whistle blew, he planted his helmet solidly in that big kid’s gut! He enjoyed hiking, paddle boarding, working out, MMA, video gaming, listening to podcasts and metal, and trying beers of all kinds. He was a collector of guns, Knives, and tattoos. He was passionate about emergency medicine, helping others, and giving to charity. He was a total sucker for dogs, cats, and “tiny humans” (aka babies). He was learning to cook. Alex was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend and will surely be missed.
