Alfonso "Bengie" Grafals

Alfonso Benito Grafals, affectionately known as “Bengie,” of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away on August 24, 2026 at the age of 72. Born on October 13, 1953, in New York, he was the son of Aurea M. Grafals and Nicasio Grafals.

Some of the most meaningful memories of Bengie’s life were made when the family gathered for the holidays. Being together, sharing a meal, and remembering loved ones were treasured parts of those celebrations. His family especially remembers carrying on the tradition of preparing his mother’s dishes—a way to bring familiar flavors and cherished memories back to the table.

Bengie was a hardworking and dependable man who devoted more than 30 years to his work at Letchworth Village. His years of service reflected the dedication and steady commitment that his family remembers with pride.

Outside of work, Bengie enjoyed music and collecting antiques. Along with family traditions and holiday gatherings, these interests were part of the life and memories his loved ones now celebrate.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aurora M. Grafals and Nicasio Grafals.

Bengie is survived by his brothers, Eugene Nicasio Grafals and Jose M. Grafals; his sister, Sandra E. Espinoza; his nephews, Stephen Boria and Marcos Espinoza; his nieces, Crystal Espinoza and Priscilla Espinoza; and their families.

His memory will have a lasting place at family gatherings—in a favorite story, a familiar recipe, and the moments that bring everyone together. Those who knew and loved Bengie will remember him with affection and gratitude for the years they shared.

A memorial gathering celebrating Bengie’s life will be held on September 27, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at 6600 Starnes Rd Watauga, Texas 76148.
