Anita Mae (Taylor) Chandler

January 18, 1938 — April 29, 2023

ANITA MAE (TAYLOR) CHANDLER - 1938 - 2023
Anita Mae Chandler was born January 18, 1938, to John and Vera Gregory in Alvarado, Texas. At the age of 16 she was adopted by Otis Lee and Emma Eurita Taylor. She grew up in Fort Worth attending William James Jr High and Trimble Tech High School. She did not graduate but earned a GED. She went to work as a clerk for the United States Postal Service in the late 1960's. She was injured on the job and was on workman's compensation for the rest of her life. She had 4 sons: Jimmie Don Taylor, Rex Dee Minard Jr., Victor Wayne Middleton, and Tony Ray Kilgore. The family often compared her to Elizabeth Taylor not only for her looks but also for the number of times she was married. We think she had more marriages than Liz. She was blessed with a great memory for dates, especially birthdays and anniversaries. She had a great mathematical mind and could do math in her head. She was stubborn, hardheaded and resilient. Don't ever tell her she couldn't do something because then she was determined to do it. She had a big heart especially for those down on their luck and in need, especially if they were family. The joke between us brothers was every time we visited her house, we needed a scorecard to keep up with who was staying with her, or she was helping. She was a caregiver to numerous family members who couldn't care for themselves. She very fond of Dr Pepper and country music especially the old classics. She loved her boys, her grand kids-especially her running buddy Shelby, her great grand kids and her great great grand kids.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Vera Mae Gregory; her adoptive parents, Lee O and Emma E Taylor; her sisters Helen Young, and Geneva Wooten and her husband Willie; her adopted brothers Otis Lee and wife Mavis Taylor, AV and wife Elsie Taylor, David Taylor, and Clinton and wife Doris Taylor; daughter in law Laura Middleton; grand daughter Misty Blu Middleton; husbands Rex Minard, Vic Middleton, Garlin Kilgore and Mel Chandler.
She is survived by her sons; Jimmie Don Taylor and wife Patti of Paradise, Tx, Rex Dee Minard Jr and wife Lettie of Floresville, TX, Victor Wayne Middleton of Joshua, Tx and Tony Ray Kilgore and wife Mindie of Cleburne, TX; her brother John "Sonny" Gregory and wife Margarita of Everman, TX; her sister-in-law Jackie (Taylor) Jones of Fort Worth and her 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren - Ella Mae and Liam Taylor. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
