Anthony Thomas Mercurio II

August 4, 1992 — May 11, 2024

Anthony Thomas Mercurio II, 31, passed away in Fort Worth, TX, on May 11, 2024. He was born on August 4, 1992, in El Paso, TX, to Kevin Thomas Mercurio and Kevelyne Anne Tietz (Mercurio).

Subsequent to moving with his family to Fort Worth, Anthony graduated from Paschal High School in 2010, to then graduate from Army Basic Training (Ft. Benning, GA.) in 2011, devoting six years of service to the Texas Army National Guard.

A resolute and diligent worker, Anthony was most recently employed as Assistant General Manager at CRÚ Food & Wine Bar (The Shops at Clearfork - Fort Worth).

Anthony and Lauren Nicole Walser (Mercurio) were blessed with the birth of their beloved daughter, Ava Marie on December 17, 2018.

His loved ones and all those whose lives he touched are heartbroken by his sudden passing. Family meant everything to Anthony, and his love for his daughter and wife was immeasurable. Anthony had many close friends he considered to be family.

Anthony loved books from the moment he could read, and during his precious free time, he loved all things history-related, enjoyed fishing, gastronomy (and any cooking show, recipe etc.), dancing (he could do an impressive jig), as well as indulging in time with family.

He adored his grandparents, and was fortunate enough to form lasting and loving relationships with friends in El Paso and the DFW area.

Anthony is survived by his wife, Lauren Mercurio, his five-year-old daughter, Ava Marie Mercurio, his parents, Kevin and Kevie Mercurio, his cherished sister, Mimmi Cartwright and her husband, Gregory, and nephew and niece (Maxwell and Lucia). He is also survived by his paternal and maternal aunts and uncles: Renee and Tim Rochford (Tim and Ashley Rochford), Guy and Frankie Mercurio (Avery Mercurio), Kristin Tietz and Javier Ferrero (Borja and Bruno Ferrero Tietz), Keadren and Anthony Green (Ruby and Evelyne Green), as well as his Godparents, Wynn and Katherine Atterbury.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, LTC. Anthony Thomas Mercurio and Elizabeth Leopoldine Oppolzer (Mercurio), and Evelyne Anne Prestridge.
