Tony was born on November 13, 1961 in Independence, Kansas to Charles and the late Patty (Yeubanks) Wells. Tony grew up in Bethany, Oklahoma and graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1979. He attended Southern Methodist University and graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1984.
Tony utilized his degree right out of college starting at Texas Instruments. Later in his career, Tony’s talents were needed at Johnson & Johnson in Florida. Relocating back to the area, Tony worked for Alcon and finally Rangaire Manufacturing. He always took pride in his work and built valued friendships that have stood the test of time. Friendships he cherished till the very end.
Tony had a gift and loved working with his hands, a passion he inherited from his father and passed down to his son, Braden. Tony and Braden were recently working to restore Tony’s first car, a 1968 Chevy Camaro. The two also enjoyed fixing older Jet Skis and Sea Doo’s for the lake. He always had a project he was working on and lucky for us he was really good at what he did.
Tony had many fond memories since early childhood of time at the lake with family and friends. Whether it was jumping boat wakes while on skis or a Jet Ski, spending the day on the water is where you would always find Tony. The lake was his second home. The family is very appreciative to ALL of Tony’s family and friends who were able to visit in these final months. Please know the warmth of your love surrounded him in his final moments.
Tony was always known for putting others first and his body will be donated to the UT Southwestern Medical Center Willed Body Program for cancer research in hopes to someday find a cure.
Survivors: Tony is survived by his wife Kimberly of Crowley; his son Braden of Crowley; his father Charles of Mustang, OK; his sister Julie of Allen; his sister-in-law Melinda and nephews Logan and Landon of Allen; as well as many close family and friends.
