Barbara June Casson, 84 years of age, was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 surrounded by her family at her home in North Richland Hills, Texas.
She was born on March 30, 1936, in San Marcos, Texas to Charles and Anabel Morris and was the eldest of three girls. She graduated from Harlandale High School in San Antonio, Texas, worked as a personal care nurse for 10 years and was the co-founder of Life Quest, CPR and First Aid Training.
At an early age, she professed her love and faith for Jesus Christ and was a member of Haltom Road Baptist Church, in Haltom City, Texas. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by all. She was a loving and caring woman who touched the lives of all who knew her; she never knew a stranger…to know her was to love her.
She enjoyed spending time and socializing with her family, square dancing, shopping, and reading her bible; her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm. She was an avid supporter of the Bill Glass Prison Ministry and the Kimble Art Museum. At the age of 81, she attended prison ministry for the first time to show her support; she was a strong and dedicated woman.
She is preceded in death by her late husband of 33 years, Lawrence Casson, and her sisters, Janet Waterman and Charlotte Miller.
SURVIVORS: Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her three children, James “Ric” R. Burkhart, John “Johnny” C. Burkhart; a host of devoted nieces and nephews, Mike, Rhonda, Bobby, and Kevin from her late sister, Charlotte and Tonya, Morris and Teressa from her late sister, Janet. She is also survived by cousins, in-laws, her surrogate grandchildren, and her many close friends.
She devoted her entire life to her sons and instilled strong values that will continue to influence their lives. She will be deeply missed and forever be in our hearts.
