Bernard (Bernie) Wayne Giddens

 July 19,1944 - July 11, 2024

Bernie Giddens, 79 of Weatherford, Texas returned home to Lord on July 11, 2024. Bernie Giddens born to William and Gertie Giddens in Cooper, Texas, July 19, 1944. He retired from the Fort Worth fire department after 33 years of service. He had a passion for fishing and he passed that on to some of his kids and grandkids. If you didn't find him fishing or meticulously, taking care of his beautiful lawn, you would find him sitting outside, watching the world pass by. He loved to watch the world wake up and storms rolling in. He took great pride and being a behind the scenes protector. He was like Superman. He swooped in when you needed him and he took a step back after the job was complete.

Bernie is preceded in death by his wives, Helen Giddens and Doris, Giddens, and his parents, William and Gertie Giddens.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters; Becca Ensey, her wife, Bev (Weatherford, Texas), Misty Crandall, her husband, Josh (Watauga, Texas), his son; Tim Giddens, his wife, Amie (Grand Prairie, Texas), grandchildren; Alex, Dylan, Dean, Braleigh, Zane, and Presley, his brothers; Gene Giddens, his wife Genine and Hiram Giddens, his wife Bettye. Along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We will miss the times we spent with him, but, rejoicing him being with the Lord. He was ready to go home to the Lord. One of the last things he said to his daughter was, "It will be okay." He was superhero and loving father till the end.

Celebration of life: 3-6 pm July 19th, 2024 at his daughter's home.
