Carole Lynn Middleton

November 11, 1942 — January 30, 2026

Carole Lynne (Colbert) Middleton of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on January 30, 2026. She was born on November 11, 1942, in Medicine Park, Oklahoma, to Alice Helen (Sturgis) and Luther Earl Colbert.

Lynne attended the Medicine Park school system for her early education and graduated from Elgin High School in May of 1960. That same year, she married Gerald W. Middleton prior to his stationing with the U.S. Navy in Newfoundland, Canada. After four years, Gerald enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and together they moved to several duty stations over the years, including Mississippi, North Dakota, and Texas.

Eventually, Lynne and Gerald settled in the Fort Worth area, where they made their home for the past 45 years. In their early retirement, they enjoyed traveling across the United States in their motorhome, creating lasting memories together.

Lynne found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, sewing, and knitting, and especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest brother, Ronald E. Colbert of Homer, Alaska.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gerald Middleton; her son, Charles L. Middleton, and his wife, Barbara G. Middleton, of Melissa, Texas; her brother, Lance S. Colbert of Homer, Alaska; her sister-in-law, Geraldine Glahn of Dallas, Texas; five granddaughters—Alorra, Brittany, Kesleigh, Michaela, and Brogan—and nine great-grandchildren.
