Catherine Davis

Catherine Carroll Davis, 73, of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, surrounded by love and the memories of a life beautifully lived.

Catherine was born on December 2, 1952, in Artesia, New Mexico, to Bennie Ruth Ross and Harry Barton Carroll. She was a woman with a vibrant spirit, a caring heart, and a personality that could light up any room. She never met a stranger and had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome, loved, and seen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Though loss touched her life, Catherine continued to pour love into those around her every day.

Catherine is survived by her loving daughter, Misty Dawn Vaughan; her devoted husband, Jayan Vadakeveettil; her cherished grandson and only grandchild, Lijith Jayan; her sister, Linda Ann Dewitt; and her brother, James Barton Carroll. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces, Anna Christine Dewitt Grant and Sarah Kaylin Carroll; her nephews, Samuel Barton Carroll and Leslie Barton Carroll; her bonus daughter, April Magliocco; her dear close friend, Fayanda Davis; along with many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Catherine found joy in the little things that made life beautiful. She loved shopping, gardening, making jewelry and crafts, collecting rocks, baking cookies, and creating handmade greeting cards and scrapbooks. She adored dragons, penguins, peacocks, and gnomes — little reflections of her colorful and creative soul.

A proud graduate of South Garland High School, Class of 1971, Catherine later attended Henderson County College. Throughout her life, she worked in various roles including as an ER admissions assistant, at Fossil Watches Company, and at Regis Community Company.

Her family remembers her as someone who loved deeply, laughed freely, and always danced to the beat of her own music. She believed strongly in helping others and supported causes close to her heart, especially local animal shelters and the SPCA. In honor of Catherine’s love for animals, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter or the SPCA in lieu of flowers.

A memorial service to celebrate Catherine’s life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.

Though she may be gone from our sight, Catherine’s love, warmth, and unforgettable spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
