Corporal Damon Jacob Young was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico, on February 20, 1978 to Jeanette Wilson Barron. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where he attended school and graduated in 1996 from Trimble Tech High School. He joined the United States Marine Corps, graduated with Platoon 1128, attained many certificates and honors, and was honorably discharged in 2000.

Damon loved being a helping hand. His career was in private security, and he volunteered at Outreach Center in east Ft. Worth where he guided countless youth and young men. His hobbies included motorcycles, exotic insects and animals, and arms. 

Damon is preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Wilson Barron; grandparents, Leroy and Pauline Wilson; great-grandparents, Rentia and Lemuel Wilson and Elijio and Enriquetta Martinez-Lopez. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: Uncle, Michael Wilson (Zulema); aunts, Michelle Smith(Henry) and LeQuitha Ann Thomas, beloved cousins, friends, and a community of fellow Marines and dear neighbors.
