Emblem

David Norman Arnold passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on the evening of March 12, 2024 at home surrounded by his family after a brief battle with multiple myeloma. David was born on April 23, 1954 in Bethesda, Maryland to Norman and Peggy Arnold. After moving around a lot during his early childhood due to his father’s Navy assignments he spent the majority of his childhood in Kansas City, Kansas until another big family move brought him to Dallas, Texas in 1969. He wasn’t thrilled about being uprooted, but he quickly adapted and found lifelong friendships with his ROTC buddies, Jeff, Bob, Kirby, Jerry and Russell. After graduating in 1972 from WT White high school, David enlisted in the Air Force in November 1973. The Air Force took him many places, including Germany for two years and his final assignment in Spokane, Washington at Fairchild Air Force Base, where he met his ex-wife Nita they had two children together Joshua and Lindsey. After proudly serving 6 years, in November 1979 he was honorably discharged and they relocated back to Dallas where David raised his kids as a single dad holding down many different jobs to support them over the years with lots of help from family. David was very passionate about music, he loved going to concerts, collecting T-shirts from his favorite rock bands and mostly jamming out in the car, playing his air guitar and playing drums on the steering wheel. He also loved traveling, cruising on his motorcycle and all things tie-dye. Most of all he was the proudest father and Papa.

David is preceded in death by his wife Diane Tritschler-Arnold, his parents Norman & Peggy Arnold, his nephews Evan and Gavan Piano & many other beloved family members. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Lindsey (Arnold)Santiago, Joshua Arnold (Amanda); grandchildren Noah & Ryleigh Santiago; sisters Julie Piano(Johnny), Laurie Sneed(Johnny) and his many nieces and nephews; & so many others who Dad loved and considered his own.
