David Patterson

David Patterson, 82, of Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away peacefully. Born June 3, 1944, to Bill and Pauline Patterson, he was raised in Hobbs and graduated from Hobbs High School before proudly serving his country.

David served four years in the United States Army and eight years in the United States Navy, completing multiple tours in Vietnam. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to public service with the New Mexico State Police, from which he retired.

In 1972, he married Patricia Patterson in Seminole, Texas. Together, they shared 54 years of marriage. David enjoyed hunting and fishing and valued time spent with family.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Jayla Patterson; son, David Patterson Jr.; daughter-in-law, Brittney Patterson; granddaughter, Arianna Patterson; sister, Tareda Patterson; and brother, WJ Patterson.

David will be remembered for his service, strength, and devotion to his family.
