A woman of great faith, Deena placed God first in her life, and her love for worship was expressed beautifully through her music. With her guitar in hand, she sang from the depths of her heart, filling her home and gatherings with songs of praise. Beyond her music, her true joy was found in the company of her children and grandchildren. Baking with them, sharing stories, and nurturing them with an endless well of love-she was the heart of her family, always welcoming others as if they were her own. Her kindness and sacrifices bound her loved ones together in a way that will never be forgotten.
Deena dedicated over two decades of her career to the Texas Department of Human Services before retiring, and she remained a beacon of support and compassion to all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her father, Jodie Ogburn; her mother, Peggy Black; her beloved husband, Jesus Vazquez; and her brother, Mickey Ogburn.
Graveside services honoring Deena's life will be held on May, 19th, at 2pm at Azeland Memorial Park, officiated by Vernon Walker. She will be laid to rest at Azeland Cemetery in Azle, Texas.
Though she is no longer physically with us, the love she gave and the warmth she shared will live on forever in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
May her spirit rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave.
