Doyle Dwayne Rogers

October 5, 1935 — April 28, 2026

Our “Papa Doyle”, known to most as Doyle Dwayne Rogers, was born in Vaughan, Texas, on October 5, 1935, to Edward Nicholas Rogers and Ila Mae Williams.

Papa Doyle graduated from Aquilla High School in 1954 where he played as a guard on the basketball team. He was a proud Aquilla alum, and eventually, he rallied together as many alumni as he could to create fundraisers to raise money for scholarships for future graduates.

After graduation, Doyle enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served our country as a Radar Operator, and traveled abroad to Japan. Upon his honorable discharge in 1958, he continued to travel the world while selling military insurance.

In 1965, he met the love of his life, Guadalupe Ann, who was three years his senior. Doyle and Lupe married on December 30, 1975. They remained together until December 27, 2021, when Lupe was called to her final resting place at the age of 89.

Papa Doyle never met a stranger, and his passion for storytelling will be missed by all, but especially by his daughter, Pamela Giebler; husband, Terry, and his son Jeremy Dwayne Rogers; wife, Jessica, and his grandchildren, Jaydon, Jacoby and Jilian (his Jil) Rogers.

He is survived by his bonus children: Victor Rodriguez; partner, Lynn, Felicity Guynn, Patricia Buie, and Aaron Rodriguez, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both his parents, his wife, his sister, Bonnie McDaniel, and his bonus son, Eric Rodriguez.

Papa Doyle, you were so proud to make it to the age of 90, and we know you made that “final comeback” your best one yet!
