Edna Sue Trimm

d. Oct 3, 2026

Edna “Sue” McCrorey Trimm passed away peacefully at her Fort Worth home on Saturday, October 3, 2026, with her children by her side. She was deeply loved, and her family will forever treasure the warmth, generosity, and joy she brought into their lives. Sue spent her 82 years in North Texas, although, as she liked to note, she celebrated only 20 actual birthdays. All of the McCrorey siblings were born in leap years, but Sue was the lucky one who arrived on February 29th —a birthday as special and memorable as she was.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Tom Trimm; her son, Scott Trimm; her grandson, Cody Trimm; her parents, Joseph and Zula McCrorey; her siblings, Mary Jo Chapin and Gary Wayne McCrorey; and several other beloved family members whose memories she carried close to her heart.

Sue retired from Bell Helicopter in 2011 after serving as Senior Administrator of Customer Training at the Flight Training Academy. Her impact reached far beyond her title. As one former co-worker shared, Sue was a legend in the helicopter industry, and for years after her retirement, customers from around the world continued to ask about her. She will be remembered for the knowledge, kindness, and personal care she brought to everyone she met.

One of Sue’s greatest gifts was the love of reading she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She would read to anyone willing to curl up in her lap, creating quiet, cherished moments that became lasting family memories. It brought her great joy to watch that love of books take root and continue through the generations. Sue also expressed her love through food. Nothing pleased her more than hearing someone ask for a favorite dish, and for many years she welcomed anyone who arrived at dinnertime with a full, home-cooked meal. In later years, her much-requested contribution to family gatherings became her dill pickle and jalapeño dip with homemade chips. She often laughed that it was the simplest thing she had ever made, while gratefully enjoying the well-earned reprieve from preparing an entire feast. Like so many things Sue shared, it became special because it came from her.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Kimberly; her son, Michael; her grandchildren, Marrisa and Mike Kirkpatrick, Randy Householder, Jonathan and Ashley Trimm, and Charles “Thomas” Hebert; and her great-grandchildren, Mathew, Mariah, Lilith, Kira, and Jemma. She is also survived by her brother, Martin McCrorey; many nieces and nephews; and the Seay, Evenson, and Gypsy MC families, who embraced and comforted her following the loss of her son.

Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so dearly—in every shared story, every favorite recipe, every book read aloud, and every gathering made warmer by the memory of her.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
