Arlington – Gilberta “Bertha” Avalos passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the age of 76.
Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Bertha was born December 24, 1942 in Las Cruces, Chihuahua in Mexico to the late Gilberto Avalos and Andrea Tena de Barraza. She immigrated to the United States as a teenager, learned English, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. She worked hard to provide for her family and strongly encouraged education to get ahead. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. During difficult times Bertha relied on her faith and was a Godly woman. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed.
Bertha is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Arturo Barraza.
Survivors: Daughter, Tabatha Sustaita-Robb and husband David Robb; son, Alfredo Lopez Jr. and wife, Tessa; son, Jorge Lopez; grandchildren, Colton and D. Quinten; and numerous loving family members and friends.
