Gregory Kiefer

Gregory “Greg” Robert Kiefer, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away on August 26, 2025, at the age of 78. Born in Peekskill, New York, on January 3, 1947, he was the son of the late William “Bob” Kiefer and Margaret “Peggy” Kiefer Cavanagh.

The eldest of seven children, Greg was a quiet, thoughtful man with an unending love for his family. He built a fulfilling career at Vought Aircraft, where he worked as a dedicated employee until his retirement. Greg was a devoted father to his son, Nick, and took great pride in supporting him from his childhood sports to his pursuit of a veterinary degree at Texas A&M. He was overjoyed when Nick and his wife, Aliza, welcomed a son, Nativ, making Greg a grandfather.

An avid fan of all sports, Greg’s heart belonged to the Texas Rangers. When he wasn’t keeping up with Nick’s travels or watching a game, he enjoyed walking and had a passion for following the weather. His greatest joy, however, was becoming a grandfather to Nativ.

Greg will be deeply missed by his son Nick, daughter-in-law Aliza, and grandson Nativ, as well as by his siblings Mike, Donna, Mark, and Kristin, his New York cousins, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings.

A private family service will be held to honor his memory.
