Burleson, Texas - A. Gregory Mansfield, 76, a retired construction worker and businessman, died surrounded by his family and friends, Friday, February 23, 2024, following a recent stroke.
Funeral Service: Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10 am, at St. Ann Catholic Church, located at 100 SW Alsbury Blvd., Burleson 76028, Texas. Immediately following the Mass, there will be a lunch reception in the Church's Parish Hall. The family is also hosting an informal reception, immediately following lunch, at 2904 Chapel Road, Crowley, Texas 76036.
Visitation: A visitation will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 5-7 pm, at Brown Owens & Brumley Funeral Home, located at 425 S Henderson Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76104.
Graveside Service: Greg will also have a ceremonial graveside service, where he will receive his full military honors. This service is scheduled for March 23, 2024 at 11 am at Machpelah Cemetery, 5112 Machpelah Street, Pascagoula, Mississippi, 39567.
Pallbearers: Michael Gatschet, Nathan Lowe, Lee Conway, John Conway, Scott Nelson, Roth Mansfield, Gary Bell, and Stephen Bell.
Greg was born February 15, 1948, in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Walter Daniel Mansfield and Ila Rogers Mansfield. Greg grew up in Pascagoula, Mississippi and attended Our Lady of Victory High School. During High School, Greg excelled at football and was considered by many an elite and gifted athlete. He later served in the US Army and was stationed in Vietnam.
Greg loved his family, his friends, his dogs, and being outdoors. He was considered an accomplished chef by all. Greg developed a very creative cooking style and wasn't afraid to spice it up. He was very generous with others regarding his cooking creations and always willing to share his knowledge and recipes with everyone. He loved to cook for others and hosted many holiday events and other special occasions with a multitude of family and friends. His colorful personality and his keen sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ila Mansfield, his brothers Roger Mansfield, Joe Mansfield, Billy Mansfield, Johnny Mansfield, Wayne Mansfield, his sister Nettie Cirlot, his grandparents Walter and Valence Mansfield, and Joseph and Nettie Rogers.
Survivors: His wife, Brenda Lowe, his daughter Gena Gatschet and her husband Buddy Odom, his son Nathan Lowe and his wife Abby Hamessley, his grandson, Michael Gatschet, and his grandson, Tate Lowe, his sister Julia Walsh and her husband Bob Walsh, his sister Vivian Bell and her husband Wayne Bell and a host of nieces and nephews; all who loved him dearly.
