ARLINGTON-James Wray Johnson, 79, passed from this life on December 12, 2020 to claim the salvation of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

James was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa to George and Estella(Sopher) Johnson on July 1, 1941. Jim attended Washington Community High School in Washington, Illinois, where he met the love of his life, Sharilyn Dalluge. The couple married June 3, 1962, at Sunnyland Christian Church, Washington, Illinois. Jim received his B.A. degree from William Penn University, Oskaloosa, Iowa in 1963. Jim started his career as a teacher and coach then his career turned to his passion working for the railroad including transportation safety, attaining numerous safety certifications, including CSP, OHST, CHST and CUSA. The Johnson’s helped establish three congregations of the Christian church, Chillicothe (Illinois) Christian, Katy (Texas) First Christian and Blue Valley Christian in Overland Park. He also loved watching sports, especially when his children and grandchildren played.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Shari; and the couple’s three daughters, Jacquelyn Brooks (Frankie Bell) of Gardner, Kansas; Jana Johnson (Terry Karrick) of Louisburg, Kansas; and Jennifer (Brian) Wooten of Colleyville, Texas; six grandchildren, Cory, Jared and Jaedyn Brooks, Alex Hutchings, Cade and Luke Wooten; two great grandchildren, Elijah Brooks due January 2021 and another one due June 2021; and his beloved dog, PepeSue.
