FORT WORTH-Judith Ann (Bene’) Curtis passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the age of 72.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 P.M. Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
Judith Ann Bene’ was born Sunday, June 5, 1949 to the late Edward Eugene and Eva Kathryn Todd Bene’ in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended and graduated from Cleveland Heights High School. She then attended Kent State College in Ohio. She married John R. Szilagyi on December 30, 1967 and of that union a daughter, Rachel was born. After the marriage dissolved, she moved to Chicago where she met the “Love of her Life”, Andy and they were married on January 21, 1983 and were married for 39 years. While in Chicago, she worked for the Continental Insurance Company as an Administrative Manager. A move was made to New Jersey in 1987 and she worked for the Chemical Bank and the JPMorgan Chase Bank as a manager in the mortgage servicing and yacht financing departments where she retired. Her passion was homemaking and home decorating. She always transformed each home she lived in into a showplace worthy of being photographed for a magazine. She was very active in the Mid-Cities Women’s and Newcomer’s Club where she was President in 2009 and again in 2020. She had many dear friends she met through the Club. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed.
Judith is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Bene’ Kanuch; brother, Joseph Bene’; and brother, Timothy Bene’
SURVIVORS: Loving husband, of 39 years, Andrew Curtis; daughter, Rachel Szilagyi; sister, Sandra Bene’ Mitrisin; brother, Michael Bene’; brother, Daniel Bene’; granddaughters, Madelyn Szilagyi and Samantha Szilagyi Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
