Katherine Myers

Our cherished Katherine “Kitty” Edwards MYERS peacefully departed to her heavenly home on July 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Aledo. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Katherine spent her formative years in Yuma, Arizona, where she fell in love with her high school sweetheart, William Myers. Her devotion to William was so profound that she patiently waited four years for him to graduate from West Point before they tied the knot.

Their marriage was blessed with six wonderful children, and together they embarked on a journey that took them across the United States and even to Germany. Katherine had a passion for writing, history, knitting, and sewing. She lovingly crafted clothes for her children and even designed a stunning prom gown for her daughter, Bethany. Her creative spirit led her to write numerous poems and stories, some of which were published in national magazines. Her children eagerly anticipated returning home from school to hear the latest tales and verses she had composed. Katherine even penned an unpublished book that her family will treasure forever.

People were naturally drawn to Katherine because of her boundless love for everyone, especially her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her husband of 63 years. She found great joy in discussing her faith and scripture, dedicating herself to studying the Bible through various classes at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Katherine is preceded in death by her father, James Edwards; her mother, Carolyn Edwards; her beloved husband, William Myers; and her daughter, Carolyn Myers. 

She is survived by her children: William Myers Jr. and his wife, Michelle Myers; David Myers; Adam Myers; Bethany Olinger and her husband, James Olinger; and Jason Myers and his wife, Warima "Nok" Myers. Katherine also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Katherine will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, William, at Aledo Brown Cemetery on August 2, 2025.
