Kathryn Marie McBride

July 25, 1975 — July 11, 2023

Kathryn Marie McBride was born on July 25, 1975 in Chesterfield, Missouri, and passed away on July 11, 2023. She was proceeded in death by her loving father Don Thompson. She is survived by her mother, Tina Thompson and partner Earle, her husband Andy McBride, daughter Ruby Hames, stepdaughter Ember McBride, many friends and family, and her beloved good boy Kash.
Kay graduated from the University of North Texas in 1997 with a degree in Elementary Education. After several years teaching, Kay tested for and received certifications in both Art and Special Education. She spent the end of her career as a Special Education Teacher at Greenfield Elementary.
Kay loved spending time with her family and friends and was an avid traveler. She met the love of her life 5 years ago when a friend introduced her to Andy. He has been her strongest supporter and the rock to which she anchored to the last two years. She found her true joy in life in her daughter Ruby and later with her bonus daughter Ember.
For the last two years Kay has proven time and time again that she is by far the toughest fighter that we know. She handled her fight with Sarcoma with a smile on her face and her own dark sense of humor. She was an inspiration to anyone that knew her or read her story.
Kay was fiercely loyal to those she loved and was known for circling the wagons when one of her loved ones needed help and support. We will miss her every day and will always be thankful, that even though it was shorter then any of us wanted, we are all lucky that she chose to share her life with us.
