Keith Lymon

October 16, 1966 — June 22, 2023

The legacy of artist and musician, Keith Lymon, will not come to an end with his passing.  Keith departed this life on June 22, 2023, at the age of 56 after a battle with heart disease.  He was surrounded by his loved ones who will continue to honor him and his legacy by sharing his art with the world.  A Celebration of Life ceremony is scheduled for 2 pm on July 14, 2023, at Brown, Owens & Brumley Funeral Home, 425 S. Henderson, Fort Worth, TX, 76104.  We ask that all in attendance wear bright, colorful clothing in honor of Keith’s art.

Keith graduated from Bellevue East Senior High and enrolled in art school the following Fall.  After a year at the school, he began doing independent research that led to his first significant art showing: Symbols of Interaction.  Keith left art school and embarked on a lifelong journey of self-discovery and learning.

He enjoyed a long career with the Fort Worth Modern Art Museum.  Beginning as a docent and being promoted to the bookstore’s assistant manager role.  During his time at the museum, he met many of his art idols and recognized them on site.  More than once he was asked to be a special guest at their opening receptions.  The bookstore was a perfect fit for his easygoing personality made him a museum favorite with its members.

Keith, a voracious reader, would spend hours in the aisles Half Price Books or a local thrift shop in hopes of finding a rare book or mint condition album.  He amassed a collection of books numbering in the thousands and albums in the same number.

A good day for Keith would always include a good meal.  Often one he prepared.  He was loyal to friends and loved his “Mama” fiercely.  Keith was preceded in death by his father, Willie Lymon and is survived by his mother, Doris Lymon; Sisters Cheryl Ellis (Eddie), Debra Ridge (Sam), Verna Temple, Kay Lymon (Chris); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
