Kirk Leander passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at the age of 65.
Kirk was born Wednesday, September 25, 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Harold Leander and Eva
Leander Harris. Kirk attended and graduated from Southwest High School, Class of 1976. He retired from FAA in
September, 2010 after many years of dedicated service. Kirk enjoyed playing ball with his two sons and
the neighborhood kids in the front yard. He loved Chess, Risk, Forty-Two and Bridge. Many evenings he
spent playing video games with his sons and others across the network. He loved playing Chess with his
grandson, Ethan while watching Brecken discover hiding places in our new home. Before moving to
Colorado he was known as Captain Kirk on his boat, “Let it Go”. Kirk was a fun loving husband, father,
grandfather, brother and friend and will be deeply missed.
Kirk is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Bill and Doris McPhee; and grandmother, Marie
SURVIVORS: Wife of 45 years, Dianna Leander; son, Brad Leander; son, Mark Leander and wife,
Margaret; grandsons, Ethan Leander and Brecken Leander; sister, Lori Stodghill and husband, Bob;
brother, Ken Leander and wife, Sue; niece, Larissa Stodghill Lindsey and husband, Matt; and numerous
