After a courageous battle with cancer, Larry Keith Poma passed away at the age of 68 peacefully in his home on May 14, 2023 to be with his Lord and Savior.
Larry was born on June 27, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Lee M. Thurston High School, where he actively played in most sports. He especially loved baseball and went on play professionally in the minor leagues until an injury ended his career. He later found his niche in new home construction and carpentry. He always found his solace in nature, hunting, fishing, and traveling and tending to their land with his beloved wife of 30 years.
Larry is survived by his wife Patricia Bowers Poma, his older brother David Poma and wife Laura, brother Rocca Poma Jr., brother Jimmy Poma and wife Candace, sister Sharon Teague and husband Marty, brother Brian Poma, sister Nancy Pavlik, brother Mark Poma, step daughter, Angie Shortt, grandsons, Cameron and Eli, and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his mother and father, Josephine and Rocca Poma, and sister Deborah Salazar. Larry will be terribly missed, but his spirit will always be felt by his family and friends. His life will be celebrated by the spreading of his ashes across the trails, lakes, and oceans of America. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry's honor can be made to Cancer Care of Fort Worth (https://cancercareservices.org/one-time-gift/), Community Healthcare of Texas (designate Cleburne) (https://www.chot.org/give-today/), or Guardianship Services Inc.
