Marinell Lou Ketchum Riggs passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the age of 95.

Celebration of life: First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie.

Interment:  Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Marinell was born June 29, 1928 in Pasadena, California to the late Noble Lee Ketchum Sr. and Marybelle Freeman. She attended schools in Lawrence, Kansas and college at Bethany Nazarine College. Our daddy met our momma at the cafeteria downtown where all the Riggs men went to drink coffee and eat pie after work. She had beautiful legs, red hair and a beautiful smile and daddy always said when he met her that she was going to be the mother of his children. She loved baking and her pies and cobblers are legendary.

She loved going to sports events of her grandkids, Six Flags, State Fair of Texas and the two zoos, tea rooms, and country rides. Her sewing skills were exceptional, making wedding gowns for Rhonda, Becky, Ginger and Savannah. She was a GA director; multiple homeroom mom for all her grandchildren as well as her girls. She volunteered at the cancer center, DFW Medical Center and Arlington Memorial. She was active in her Sunday school, women’s book club, volunteer at Grand Prairie libraries and garden club. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed.

Marinell is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley Earl Riggs; sister, Betty Ketchum Driscoll; brother, Noble Lee Ketchum Jr.; and grandson, Randy Young.
