Olga Rubio Longoria

August 14, 1948 — June 22, 2023

 

On Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the age of 74, Olga Rubio Longoria transitioned to her new home with her Lord and savior. Olga was the loving mother of three children; a grandmother to five grandchildren; and sister to nine siblings. She was born August 14, 1948, in Brownsville, Texas to her parents, Ricardo and Rosa Rubio. She graduated from Brownsville High School in 1966. She married Juan Antonio Longoria on March 18, 1968. Soon after, they moved from Brownsville to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. They selected Flower Mound, Texas, as the place to set roots and raise their beautiful family. They raised their children Juan Longoria, Jr., Jesus Longoria, and Sylvia (Longoria) Thompson in the Catholic faith where Olga taught catechism class at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Olga and Juan were married for twenty-four years. Olga retired from Lewisville ISD where she was employed as a cafeteria manager. She served LISD with decades of service and maintained lasting friendships with former colleagues. 

Olga was preceded in death by her father, Ricardo Rubio; her mother, Rosa Garcia Rubio, her sister Maria Magdalena Rubio; and, her companion of fifteen years, Michael Kilgore. May they Rest in Peace.

She is survived by: Juan Longoria; her children Juan Jr. (Bo); Jesus (Chuy) and wife Amber; Sylvia and husband Wendell Thompson; her five grandchildren, Ethan, Madison, Alyssa, Mia, and Zoe; her eight siblings her brother Ernesto (Neto) Rubio; her sister Maria Elena (Nena) and Jesse Banda; her sister Ida Rubio Garza; her brother Rueben Rubio and Mary; her sister Elida Rubio Cedars; her brother Albert and Lola Rubio; here sister Cecilia (Ceci) and Lonnie Bulloch; her brother Rolando and Belinda Rubio; and numerous nieces and nephews of the Rubio and Longoria family trees.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of our Olga, a.k.a. Memaw, will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at The Refuge Church located at 514 E. Main Street, Lewisville, Texas. Food and reception following the service.
