Oran William Branner

“William”

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Oran William Branner, lovingly known to most as William, a devoted husband, father, teacher, and friend, who entered eternal rest on January 4, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on November 17, 1956, William lived a life defined by faith, love, service, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

William was preceded in death by his father, Oran Logan, and his mother, Mildred Branner.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Crystal Branner; his children, Chantelle Reed (Roderick), Victoria Minneweather, Rodger Peebles Jr. (Nikki), Kelly Peebles, and bonus son Danyail Storey (Jazsmine); his siblings, Tanya Branner and Steven Branner; his grandchildren, Demaris Washington (Joshua), Jordan Storey, Lamont Minneweather, Zaniyah Minneweather, Bethanie Alexandria Speck, and Kashus Peebles; and his great-grandchildren, Kimberlyn Washington, Keisha Washington, and Joshua Washington Jr.

After dedicating his life to those he loved, William’s walk was anchored in a deep and abiding faith in God. A proud member of Cross City Church since December 2024, he had attended faithfully since 2008. He also faithfully served at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship as an usher and in the parking lot ministry, where he welcomed congregants with warmth, kindness, and a servant’s heart. His commitment to service was further evident through his role as a deacon at New Life Fellowship, where he diligently oversaw Sunday collections and served with humility and devotion.

William held a strong belief in the power of education and giving back. He generously shared his time teaching math and reading to children, offering financial knowledge to others, and volunteering at Mission Arlington. His passion for uplifting others through learning and service left a lasting impact on countless lives.

Above all, William was immensely proud of his family. One of his greatest joys was knowing that all of his children grew up to be individuals of character, integrity, and compassion.

Beyond service, William found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an enthusiastic football fan, proudly supporting both the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens. Some of his most cherished moments were spent at the recreation center, where he and the children, his ‘crew’, shared a special fist-pump dance. He also had a deep love for the children in the after school ministry and worked hard to give them a firm foundation in math and reading. He celebrated life fully, enjoying memorable vacations to Aruba and family cruises filled with laughter and love.

William’s vibrant spirit, infectious smile, and genuine kindness will be deeply missed. His life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, and service, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Funeral services to celebrate William’s life will be held on January 16, 2026, at Cross City Church, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the Celebration of Life service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance, share stories, and honor the remarkable life of Oran William Branner.
