With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia Busby, who entered into eternal rest on July 1, 2026, at the age of 67.
Born on May 21, 1958, in Fort Worth, Texas, Patricia lived a life centered on the people she loved most. To know her was to know a woman whose greatest joy was her family. Whether she was cheering from the sidelines of life’s milestones, sharing stories around the table, or simply enjoying time together, Patricia made those around her feel loved, welcomed, and at home.
Patricia was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 42 years, Gary Busby, as well as her parents, Wilma Rose Canutesonand Willie Red Canuteson. Though reunited with them in Heaven, she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the family she cherished.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Crystal Johnson and husband, Matthew Johnson; her son, Jeffrey Busby; and her seven adored grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. Becoming a grandmother was one of Patricia’s greatest blessings, and every moment spent making memories with them was one she treasured deeply.
Before dedicating herself fully to raising her children, Patricia worked for many years as an apartment manager. While she was hardworking and dependable, her most meaningful role was that of wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her purpose, and she poured her heart into creating a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.
Patricia attended both Eastern Hills High School and Lake Worth High School. She enjoyed the simple things in life and could always be counted on to cheer for her beloved Dallas Cowboys each football season. She was also an avid wrestling fan and never missed a match. Her family smiled knowing exactly where she’d be on game day or wrestling night, enjoying every minute.
Some of Patricia’s most treasured moments were spent with the people who meant the most to her. She cherished time with her dear friend and caretaker, Karen, and her friend, Brian. She found immeasurable pride in watching Crystal and Jeffrey grow into the amazing adults they became and loved nothing more than gathering with her grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Patricia’s life was not measured by the years she lived but by the love she gave so freely. She had a caring heart, a loyal spirit, and a quiet strength that carried her family through life’s joys and challenges. Her love will continue to live on in every story shared, every family gathering, every Cowboys game watched, and every cherished memory that brings a smile through the tears.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, those who knew and loved Patricia find comfort in knowing that love never truly leaves us. It lives on in the hearts of those she touched and in the family she was so incredibly proud to call her own.
A Celebration of Patricia’s Life will be held where family and friends will gather to honor the beautiful life she lived and the countless memories she leaves behind.
