FORT WORTH-Peggy LaVonne Markum Worley passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the age of 90.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 12 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel.
VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the funeral home
INTERMENT: Peggy will be laid to rest with her beloved husband of 64 years, James Vernon “J. V.” Worley at Springtown Cemetery.
Peggy was born Friday, August 28, 1931 to the late Robert Leonard “Doodle” Markum and Ola Irene Markum in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended Paschal High School and Tech High School. She worked for Howell Instruments, Brown Owens & Brumley as a receptionist and A & P Food Store. Peggy loved spending time with her family at the lake in Bridgeport and vacations to the mountains in Arkansas. She loved camping with the Grotto Camping Club. She was a member of the Grotto, Eastern Star, Fancy Steppers and a Girl Scout leader. Her most pride came with the birth of her three girls, Linda, Cathy and Patsy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years, J.V. Worley; grandson, Donnie Lee “D.L.” Scarbrough II; brother, Billy Bob Estes; and sister, Paddy Estes.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Linda Sue Scroggins, Cathy Marie Trudgen and Patsy Ann Rose; sister, Claudia Sims; brothers, Gary Don Holt and Bradford Estes “Noy”; grandsons, Paul Spraggins, Matthew Spraggins, Patrick Scarbrough; granddaughters, Christa Kain, Kathy DeAnne Bollman “DeeDee”, Tina Wilkerson and Faith Scroggins; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
