Richard Carlton Cooper, 61, passed away peacefully at his home on January 30, 2026. He was born on November 26, 1964, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Richard lived life with grit, heart, and a deep love for the things—and people—that mattered most to him. He was happiest with his wife and the rumble of a Harley beneath him, a fishing line in the water, or the open road stretching ahead. Riding motorcycles wasn’t just a hobby; it was part of who he was. He especially loved riding with friends and visiting custom motorcycle shops, always appreciating the craft and detail that went into a well-built bike.
Richard took great pride in his work and dedicated 18 years of loyal service to Union Pacific Railroad. Known for his strong work ethic and dependability, he earned the respect of coworkers and built lasting friendships along the way.
One of Richard’s greatest joys in life was his family—most especially his grandchildren. Watching them ride motorcycles filled him with pure happiness and pride, moments he cherished deeply. His love for them knew no bounds. He was also a devoted animal lover and adored his fur babies, who brought him comfort, companionship, and endless joy.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, Robert Cooper, and his mother, Lora Wayne Alston.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tracey Ann Cooper; his daughter, Celie Price, and her husband, Logan Price; his stepson, Sy Cooper; his stepdaughter, Tiffany Woodward, and her husband, Rob; his stepson, Ty Schenk, and his wife, Caitlyn; and his stepdaughter, Savannah, and her husband, John Ryan. He is also survived by his sister, Teresa Ernst, and her spouse, Randi; nieces Colleen Shoemaker and Clarissa McNair; and extended family members who loved him dearly. Richard was the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Richard will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of the open road, his loyalty to those he loved, and the deep devotion he had to his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
