Robert Dale Warren

FORT WORTH-Robert Dale Warren, 67, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2021.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Southside City Church and will be livestreamed via Facebook.
Robert was born on Thursday, September 17, 1953 to Ruby Dale Jarret and Gerald Warren in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Megargel High School in 1973 and later went to horticulture school. Robert loved walking, gardening, collecting antiques, movie stars and making photo albums for his family members. Robert worked at Greens Nursery and Landscaping, Wyatt’s Cafeterias, and Luby’s Cafeteria. Robert was a hard worker and was dedicated to doing the very best he could. He was a member of the Southside City Church of Fort Worth, Texas. He loved his church and was loved by all who was in his church family. Often stories were told to his church family that left them laughing and the memories were precious to them, as well as cherished by Robert. He loved all their get togethers, especially when the sweet ladies cooked their favorite dishes! Robert always made sure he was there to partake in that rich bounty God provided. A fond memory from his Pastor Darrell was watching Robert work and singing “Oh How I Love Jesus” throughout the day. Roberts’ sister, Glenda has so many thoughts and memories of him being a loving brother who would help anyone. She remembers them as kids and him crying when he couldn’t have a fish leg. (He didn’t know only chickens had drumsticks.) His cousin remembers him as always being mischievous as a child. One year when they were visiting their great aunt in the little town of Gorman, Texas, he encouraged her and her sister to sneak off to the small downtown district. They all hung around the 5 & 10 until they kicked them out and then he urged them to sneak into the hotel that was downtown that was a 3 or 4 story building. They somehow snuck by the front desk and up the stairs and wandered around the halls that were decorated in a beautiful art deco style. Of course, they were found out and sent back to their aunts’ house. But oh what fun they had that day! He loved to visit with family and friends and find out all that had been happening through the year, as they only gathered at Christmas. All of his family has memories of Robert laughing, loving, and always being the photographer for his family. He was an avid collector of family photos. He loved his family and loved sharing stories of the good ole days! We will miss him so much in our hearts and memories.
Robert is preceded in death by his mother, step-father, and father.
