Robert Andrew Robinson

June 10, 1954 — January 31, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Andrew Robinson, who left this world on January 31, 2026, in Jacksboro, Texas. Born on June 10, 1954, in Abilene, Texas, Robert lived life on his own terms—warm-hearted, endlessly friendly, and blessed with a mischievous sense of humor. He truly never met a stranger.

One of five children, Robert was known early on for marching to the beat of his own drum. His independent spirit kept his mother in constant worry, a fact he later joked about when he shared with his sister Helen that, “Mom would be surprised to see I have lived as long as I have.” That humor stayed with him throughout his life.

In his youth, Robert found joy in the great outdoors. He loved riding motorcycles, water skiing, hunting, and fishing—anything that allowed him to feel free and connected to nature. Later in life, music became his second great passion. True to his self-driven nature, Robert taught himself to play both the guitar and banjo, finding peace and expression through music rather than following life’s traditional curriculum.

Robert was an accomplished electrician and telecommunications professional, working for companies such as WorldCom and MCI. He brought determination, curiosity, and a self-taught work ethic to everything he did.

He is survived by his Son Raydale Breshears his loving sisters, Helen Robinson Johnson and Phyllis Robinson Vicars; brothers Tommy Robinson and James Robinson; sister-in-law Nancy Brooks Robinson; and his cherished nieces and nephews: Valerie Hopkins, Terra Mitchell, Sara M. Johnson, Dustin Robinson, and many others.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William Robinson and Mary Robinson, and his mother Agnes Higginbotham Robinson.

Robert Andrew Robinson will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Rest in peace, Rob.
