Sherry Ann Crooks

Sherry Ann Crooks passed away on September 18, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved her beyond measure.

Born on February 27, 1971, in Alexandria, Louisiana, Sherry was the daughter of James Adam Crooks and Mary Ann Angler. From the very beginning, family would become one of the most important parts of Sherry’s life and remain at the center of who she was.

Sherry was a woman of incredible strength. She was a warrior in every sense of the word—strong, determined, and courageous through whatever life placed in front of her. Even during difficult seasons, Sherry continued to fight, love, laugh, and be there for the people who meant the most to her. Her strength was something her family witnessed time and time again, and it will forever be part of the legacy she leaves behind.

Of all the roles Sherry held throughout her life, none meant more to her than being Mom and Nana. Her family was her heart. Some of the most precious moments of her life were the days each of her grandchildren was born. Becoming a grandmother brought a special kind of joy to Sherry’s life, and the love she had for her grandchildren was unmistakable.

Sherry knew how to enjoy life and the simple things that made her happy. She loved shopping, playing games, relaxing in a warm bath, going out to eat, swimming, dancing, and spending time with her family. She especially loved sleepovers with her grandchildren.

Sherry also loved a good road trip. Give her an open road and some Dixie Chicks playing, and she was ready to go. And anyone who knew Sherry knew she had a bit of a lead foot! It was all part of her personality and the fun-loving spirit that made her who she was.

One memory that her brothers and sisters will always hold especially close comes from their childhood. They remember Sherry sitting in the back seat, rocking back and forth as they went down the road. It was one of those little things that was simply Sherry—a simple childhood memory that, with the passing of time, became something incredibly precious.

Sherry is lovingly remembered by her sons, Tony, Nathan, Brandon, and Jose; her daughters-in-law, Chelsea and Zowye; and her beloved grandchildren, Anthony, Aa’liyah, Nevaeh, Luna, Loretta, Ezekiel, and Luca, along with her other cherished grandchildren.

She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Franny, Donna, and Kelly; her brothers, Steve, James,and Jody; her half-sisters, Scarlett, Cherry, Tracy, and Shelly; and her half-brother, Tommy and Kelly, along with many other family members and friends whose lives were touched by her.

Sherry’s life was made beautiful not simply by the years she lived, but by the memories she created along the way—the laughter, the music, the family gatherings, the sleepovers, the dancing, and especially the countless moments spent loving her children and grandchildren.

She fought like a warrior, loved with her whole heart, and cherished her family fiercely. Although her family would give anything for more time with her, they will carry pieces of Sherry with them wherever they go. She will live on in the stories they tell, the songs they hear, the laughter they share, and all of those little memories that could only belong to Sherry.

She was a warrior. She was Mom. She was Nana. She was deeply loved. And she will never be forgotten.
