Shirley Dean Strickler

Shirley Dean Strickler passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born on June 17, 1941, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Shirley was the daughter of Lucille Smith Liles. She graduated from Northside High School in Fort Smith and later made her home in Fort Worth, Texas.

Shirley dedicated many years of service to the Crowley School District in Fort Worth, where she was a valued and respected employee. She was a devoted Baptist whose faith guided her life and relationships.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Smith Liles and stepfather Harry Hall.; her husband, Clair Frederick Strickler Jr.; and her grandmother, Clara Smith Jones.

Shirley is survived by her loving children: daughter Trina R. Wood; son Kenny Stallings; and daughter Vicky Cooper and her husband, Charles Cooper III. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Sheri Ross, Denise Saulnier, Frederick “Buddy” Strickler, Patrick Strickler, Karen Lockhart, Thomas Strickler, Julia Gil, and Mark Strickler.

Her legacy continues through her 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.

Shirley loved shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family. She especially treasured and adored her dogs. She will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to family, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Shirley’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
