Tonia Apperson, 67, passed away on July 1, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. She spent her final days surrounded by family and friends.
Tonia was born on February 26, 1958 in Colorado City, Texas to William Jr and Sallie Camp.
She graduated from Colorado City High School in 1976 and went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Accounting. She worked in the accounting department for Group and Pension Administrators for more than 20 years.
Tonia married Michael Apperson in Colorado City, Texas in August 1976.
The couple had two children, Justin and Jarrad Apperson. They were stationed in Florida while Mike was in the Navy and moved back to Texas in 1985. They bought a home in Richardson Texas in 1988 and resided there until after their sons graduated high school. They moved to Murphy Texas in 2002. Tonia and Mike retired in 2018 and began traveling several months a year in their RV, as well as spending more time with family and friends.
Tonia loved spending time with her friends and family. Her social calendar was packed. She was always up for a night of board games, a quick trip to visit family in Oklahoma, a sold-out rock concert, or sporting event (Go Cowboys!).
Most of all, family was her true life passion. She deeply loved her family and would do anything to make their lives better. Tonia was a sweet, gentle, compassionate soul that would not hesitate to help a friend or family member in need
Tonia touched many lives. She had a gift for making people feel special and for bringing the party to any gathering. Her unique mix of sweetness and spirit was irresistible to all. She was genuinely kind, consistently present, and elevated the people around her. Although she left us unexpectedly and too soon, she lived a rich, rewarding life full of wonderful memories.
She will be deeply missed by all that knew her and were touched by her kindness.

She is survived by her spouse Michael Apperson; her sons Jarrad Apperson and Justin Apperson; her daughter-in-law Elisabeth Apperson; her grandchildren Ava Apperson, Henry Apperson, and Luke Apperson; her mother Sallie Camp; her brother Donny Camp; sister Becky Shope; nieces Kelly Goswick, Shannon Scott, Rebecca Miller, and Yvette Plank; and her nephews Dondi Camp and Cade Camp.
