Walter Newton McFarland arrived in Heaven on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the age of 83.
Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2019 at Friendship Baptist Church located at 1248 West Hurst Blvd. Hurst, Tx. 76053
Visitation: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday evening at the Funeral Home.
Walter was born on June 15, 1936 in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of Jack and Irene Lucille McFarland. He met his wife Cecelia Mary Adams and they were married and shared 50 years together as well as having a daughter and 3 sons. Walter was a people person that never met a stranger. He was the kind of person that once you met him, you did not forget him. If you ever needed anything, he was always there for you. He was a man of honesty and integrity and said what he thought. He enjoyed old cars, welding, woodworking and landscaping. If there was a skill that he needed to complete a project, then he would figure it out and do it on his own. His career consisted of working at Long Horn Steel from 1954 to 1956 and then he was employed at General Motors where he retired after 32 of years of service. Walter was a man of deep faith as he came to know the Lord as a young man. He was baptized at the age of 33 at Glenview Baptist Church and is a current member of Friendship Baptist Church. He has a very close group of friends which includes 6 pastors. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family. Walter is preceded in death by his son, Leslie Kem McFarland.

Survivors: Wife of 50 years Cecelia McFarland; daughter, Vicki Clark and husband Dan; sons, Jack McFarland and Shane McFarland and his wife Tammy; sisters, Jackie Davison and Peggy Sanders; grandchildren, Nathan Clark, Lindsay Ray, Kevin McFarland, Nicholas McFarland, Ryan McFarland and Brianna Berry; great-grandchildren, Matthew Brown, Cheyenne Jesmain, Luke Jesmain, Noah Jesmain and Cayden Ray; numerous nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
