In Loving Memory of Wyvonna Renee Horton

Renee Horton, 75, of Joshua, Texas, passed away on September 2, 2024.

Born on May 9, 1949, in Comanche, Texas, Renee was the daughter of Edwin and Wanda Edwards. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1968 and went on to earn her cosmetology license, eventually opening her own salon in Arlington.

On April 22, 1983, Renee remarried the love of her life, Jackey Horton, in Fort Worth. Together, they co-owned R&J Plumbing and raised their blended family of eight children: Curtis McNutt, Stacy Strain, Chad McNutt, Phillip Horton, Kevin Horton, Greg Horton, Bradley Horton, and Kimberley Jenson.

Renee was devoted to her role as a mother and grandmother. She cherished reading, singing, and spending time with her family.

Renee was preceded in death by her husband, Jackey Horton and her parents Edwin and Wanda Edwards. 

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, including her daughter Stacy Strain and her husband Stu of Argyle; her sons Curtis McNutt and Chad McNutt, both of Joshua; her granddaughters Lauren Brummel and her husband Tyler, and Morgan McNutt-Cates; her great-grandchildren Augi Brummel and Sawyer Gray. She is also survived by her stepchildren Phillip Horton, Kevin Horton, Greg Horton, Bradley Horton, and Kimberley Jenson, as well as her step-grandchildren Christopher Horton, Melissa Horton, Ashley Horton, Jacob Horton, Chase Horton, Weylin Watson, Kassidy Watson, and Peyton Watson.

A memorial service for Wyvonna Renee Horton will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Brown, Owens & Brumley Family Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas.
