Phyllis Jean “Nan Nan” Sewall

North Richland Hills–Phyllis Jean Sewall, a passionate and loving mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the age of 86.

Celebration of Life: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Brown Owens & Brumley Family Funeral Home Chapel. Phyllis will be interred at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. There she will be put with the Love of Her life, the late Samuel B. Sewall and their son, Charles Wayne Sewall.

Phyllis was born September 29, 1931 in Washington D.C. to the late Arthur and Rachel Manders. Phyllis met the Love of her life, Sam Sewall and they made their homes on the East Coast and Texas for many years to be close to their daughter and her family. Her fondest memories were those of which she enjoyed holidays with her family, shopping trips with her daughter and the many fishing trips and flower gardens with her husband of 58 years before he passed in 2009. Phyllis was an extraordinary mother embodying unfailing love, faith, character, generosity, compassion and humility. She always provided a perfect example for her daughter Debbie. Her droll sense of humor endeared her to all and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel B. Sewall and their beloved son, Charles Wayne Sewall as well as many other family members.

Survivors: daughter, Debra Sewall Tedone and husband Mark; grandchildren, David Matthew Tedone and Melissa Virginia Marie Tedone and Philip Mark Tedone; beloved niece, Donna Virginia Hunter and special friends Joyce and James Anderson and Chris Brown; and many friends.
