Tony “Spider” Watkins

FORT WORTH–Tony “Spider” Watkins passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the age of 65.
Graveside service: 10 a.m. Saturday, August 26th at Greenwood Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at The Original Mexican Food Restaurant on Camp Bowie for those who wish to break bread, tell stories, toast a cold beer and celebrate his life.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, you may make a small donation to your favorite charity in his name.
Born Anthony Wayne Watkins II on May 24, 1952, Tony was a colorful Fort Worth native who graced the hearts of many people from all walks of life. His loving heart rarely issued a critical word and his extraordinary sense of humor never waned even in the face of life’s adversities. He was an avid muscle car enthusiast, water skier and guitar player. Tony always had a zest for the simple things in life and cherished his friends above all. He was a graduate of North Hi Mount, Stripling Jr. High and Arlington Heights High School. He finished his higher education from the University of Texas at Arlington receiving a degree in computer programming that would serve him well in his work career. While at UTA, he became a legendary member of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity and cultivated many lifelong friends whose lives were made richer in having known and loved him. His presence in our lives will grace our thoughts and hearts in those special times of quiet and joyful remembrance. A truly unique spirit, he will be missed very much. Survivors: Tony is survived by his son, Mason Austin Watkins; brother, Wallace Clyde Jenkins; Mason’s mother, Donna; life partner, Kellye; and many, many special people and friends too numerous to name.
